Introduction

WhatIf ("we," "our," or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle information when you use the WhatIf mobile application (the "App").

Information We Do NOT Collect

WhatIf is designed with privacy in mind. We do not collect, store, transmit to our servers, or share any of the following:

• Personal identification information (name, email, phone number)
• Financial account information or credentials
• Actual investment portfolio data or holdings
• Payment information
• Device identifiers for tracking purposes
• Advertising IDs
• Precise location data
• Usage analytics or behavioral tracking data
• IP addresses or browsing history

We have no servers or databases storing your personal information.

Local Data Storage

The App stores certain information locally on your device solely for functionality purposes. This data never leaves your device:

• Search history: Stock and cryptocurrency ticker symbols you've searched (e.g., "AAPL", "BTC") are stored locally to provide quick access to recent searches
• Cached price data: Historical price data retrieved from third-party APIs is temporarily cached on your device to reduce loading times and API requests
• Calculation results: Your investment calculations and comparisons are stored locally for your reference
• App preferences: Your settings (such as preferred investment frequency or selected assets) are stored locally

Important: All locally stored data is protected by your device's security features and is automatically deleted when you uninstall the App. No backup of this data is sent to our servers or iCloud.

Third-Party Data Services

To provide historical stock and cryptocurrency price data, the App sends requests to third-party financial data providers. These requests contain only:

• Asset ticker symbols (e.g., "AAPL", "BTC", "ETH")
• Date ranges for historical data
• Standard HTTP request headers (user agent, timestamp)

These requests do NOT contain any personally identifiable information about you.

We use the following data providers:

• Yahoo Finance - for stock market data
• CryptoCompare - for cryptocurrency data

These third-party services may log API requests (including timestamp, requested symbols, and IP address) for their own operational purposes. We recommend reviewing their privacy policies:

Apple Services

When you download WhatIf from the App Store, Apple may collect standard information such as:

• Download and installation data
• Crash reports (if you opt-in to share diagnostics with Apple)
• App Store review data

This data is collected by Apple, not by us. Please refer to Apple's Privacy Policy for details.

Data Security

Since we don't collect or transmit your personal data to our servers, there is no centralized database that could be compromised. All data remains on your device.

Children's Privacy

WhatIf does not knowingly collect any information from children under 13. The App is not directed at children. If you believe a child has used the App, please contact us and we will provide guidance on removing any locally stored data.

International Users

WhatIf is available worldwide. When you use third-party data APIs, your requests may be routed through servers in various countries. Since we only send ticker symbols (not personal data), this does not constitute a transfer of personal information.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the "Last Updated" date at the top of this policy and may notify you through the App or App Store update notes. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.

Your Rights and Data Control

Since we don't collect your personal information on our servers, there is no data for us to access, modify, export, or delete. You have full control over any locally stored data:

• Clear cache: Go to iOS Settings → WhatIf → Clear Cache (if available) or reinstall the app
• Delete all data: Uninstall the App to permanently remove all locally stored information
• Opt-out of third-party tracking: We don't track you, but you can enable "Limit Ad Tracking" in iOS settings to limit tracking by other services
